Our First Year Together

Aren't we cute? Just kidding! :D I didn't want to be totally cheesy!

Well, Rob and I enjoyed our first year of marriage together and I have to say that it's been a blast. We have had lots of fun this year...just a few events as we look back.

In January of this year, we were lucky enough to travel to Krabi Thailand, Feburary was the month I started my degree plan with ECU in Perth. Then in March, I offically started my own personal training company, Sweat Fitness and Rob also completed his first Biathlon. At the end of March we were able to go to Cambodia, then just a few weeks later, we found ourselves back in Texas! At Easter, we received the good news of Todd and Jenni's engagement! When June rolled around we headed to Phuket, Thailand for another holiday. In August, we got the news that Dan was getting married so we hopped on a plane back to Texas. From that point, Rob started his heavy training and completed a long-time goal he had for himself: a Half IRONMAN, which he finished better than his expected time during the month of September. Then in October, Rob and I finally went to Europe together for the first time. William Whitfield Goforth was born in October on the same day as Ranson...2 nephwes with the same birthday! Rob and I have 15 neices and nephews now from the ages of 18 to one month old! Most recently, we just returned from a trip to Bali, Indonesia and now Christmas is around the corner again!

Among other things, Rob has travelled more around Asia (for work), I experienced an earthquake, we have both completed running events and welcomed another newphew into the world. It hasn't been all bliss though...it's still very hard to be away from family and sometimes we really miss the conveniences of home. Also, we have had to make a lot of decisions about life, where we are living, our future and careers. With jobs and school and travelling, this first year has seriously flown by! It seems like we just got married.

Well, as we are trying to save money for a house/cars...everything for when we go back to Texas, we are also trying to take advantage of our time here. Rob and I cashed in our miles and headed to Bali! This was an appropriate place to celebrate our first anniversary because we got engaged here! It's probably the last time we will be in Bali for who knows how long. It was nice and wonderful! As usual, we relaxed on the beach, enjoyed the fresh air and added in a little adventure! We climbed a volcano!!! We also bought furniture...I know this is boring, but we were excited - it's super cheap in Indonesia and hand-made; the quality seems sturdy enough so it will be going in our non-existent house.

About the volcano...it's still active and we even got to go the crater. We woke up at 2am and hiked up the volcano with a guide in the middle of the night. It was a fun moon and we were huffing and puffing as we made the mile hike upwards during the night. At the top, we had a little breakfast (and coffee) in some make-shift shack and watched the sun rise! It was so beautiful! Here our our pictures from our latest trip. Oh, and the yellow sashes we are wearing was out of respect, we were told it's a "Holy Mountain".
